BAILEN’s musicality springs from a very deep well, in fact, it’s in their DNA. Raised in New York City by their classically trained parents, siblings Daniel, David and Julia Bailen (fraternal twins and younger sister, respectively) immersed themselves in a record collection that included Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, Carole King and The Band.
Produced by GRAMMY-Award winner John Congleton (St. Vincent, The War on Drugs) the transcendent harmonies, striking arrangements and meticulous songcraft of BAILEN’s debut album, Thrilled To Be Here, are rooted in the young group’s unusual self-assurance, preternatural insight and potent lyrical bite.
Here is what the press are saying about Bailen's debut album'Thrilled To Be Here':
“Thrilled To Be Here is an LP steeped in classic rock and 20th century references: it’s impossible not to hear echoes of CS&N and Fleetwood Mac in their gloriously yelled harmonies, with strains of TLC and Destiny’s Child.” ROLLING STONE
“‘I Was Wrong’ balances tender harmonies with a vulnerability and trust years in the making.” NPR MUSIC
“The new album features songs like ‘Something Tells Me,’ which kicks off with Everly Brothers- style vocal harmonization before the song shifts into an epic indie love ballad, while ‘I Was Wrong’ incorporates alt-country and soul influences into a surprisingly cohesive package.” UPROXX
