Even if a record has been looked after exceptionally well microscopic dirt will built up in its grooves over time and this will affect the sound. Many people think that 'pop and crackle' is an inevitable part of the record listening experience but it doesn't have to be as it often means that a record needs a good clean.
We spent £1500 on buying a professional Loricraft cleaning machine (widely regarded as the best on the market) which uses liquid and suction to get records clean right down into the grooves and sounding great again without any risk of damage.
